Intro
Impression Liu Sanjie is an outdoor theatrical performance directed by Zhang Yimou (director of the 2008 Beijing Olympics opening ceremony) using the Li River and karst mountains as a natural stage. 600 performers, 12 karst peaks, and the river itself are illuminated in a 70-minute show of Zhuang minority culture, folk music, and spectacular lighting. It is the most technically ambitious outdoor performance in China and genuinely extraordinary.
