Intro
Impression Liu Sanjie is an outdoor theatrical performance directed by Zhang Yimou (director of the 2008 Beijing Olympics opening ceremony) using the Li River and karst mountains as a natural stage. 600 performers, 12 karst peaks, and the river itself are illuminated in a 70-minute show of Zhuang minority culture, folk music, and spectacular lighting. It is the most technically ambitious outdoor performance in China and genuinely extraordinary.

Performance venue is on the Li River south of Yangshuo town. Tickets and transport available from Yangshuo hotels.
