Xingping Ancient Town
Xingping Ancient Town — the most scenic village on the Li River
Intro
Xingping is a small ancient town on the Li River between Guilin and Yangshuo, widely considered the most picturesque section of the river. The 20-yuan note depicts the view from the hills above Xingping — a panorama of karst peaks mirrored in the river that is perhaps the most famous landscape image of China. The town itself retains traditional Qing Dynasty buildings and a slower pace than touristy Yangshuo.
