Intro
Green Lake Park is Kunming's most cherished public space — a 60-hectare park of connected lakes, causeways, pavilions, and lotus gardens in the heart of the city. In winter, thousands of red-billed gulls migrate from Siberia to the lake, creating one of Kunming's most beloved seasonal spectacles — locals bring bags of bread to feed the swirling flocks. Year-round, the park fills with morning exercisers, tea drinkers, retirees playing chess, and students from the adjacent Yunnan University. The lakeside teahouses are excellent for a long, lazy afternoon.
