Senado Square
Senado Square — Macau's UNESCO-listed colonial heartbeat
Intro
Senado Square is the civic heart of historic Macau and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Paved with distinctive black-and-white Portuguese wavy stone mosaic, the square is surrounded by colonial buildings painted in yellow, green, and pink — the Portuguese municipal buildings, the Leal Senado (now the Municipal Civic Centre), and the Holy House of Mercy. It is the most visually striking public space in Asia outside of major capitals.
