Highlights — Why we like Confucius Temple Nanjing

Intro

The Confucius Temple area (Fuzimiao) is Nanjing's most visited and most atmospheric district — a complex of temples, traditional architecture, and pedestrianised streets along the Qinhuai River. The original Confucius Temple dates to 1034 AD and has been rebuilt many times; the current structures are Qing Dynasty in style. The surrounding Qinhuai riverfront, particularly the stretch between Wende Bridge and Zhanyuan Garden, is beautiful at night when red lanterns reflect on the water. The area is also famous for its Nanjing-style snacks — duck blood and glass noodle soup, sesame pancakes, and osmanthus cake.
