Golden Whip Stream — the most beautiful forest trail in Zhangjiajie
Intro
The Golden Whip Stream (Jinbian Xi) is a 7.5-kilometre trail following a mountain stream through the heart of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. Considered one of the most beautiful forest walks in China, the path winds through dense subtropical forest past towering sandstone pillars, with the stream alongside producing a constant gentle sound. Macaques are frequently seen along the trail, and the forest cover keeps the path cool even in summer.

Getting There
Enter at either the Zhangjiajie Village or the Shuiraosimen end of the park. The trail is one-way and takes 2-3 hours to walk.

Included in combined park ticket (¥245).
Practical Tips
Walk from Zhangjiajie Village toward Shuiraosimen for the best downstream direction. The trail is flat and easy. Do not feed the monkeys.
