Intro

Tianzi Mountain (Son of Heaven Mountain) offers the most expansive panoramic views of Zhangjiajie's sandstone pillar landscape. At 1,262 metres, the mountain plateau looks out over hundreds of pillars stretching to the horizon. The area is characterised by dramatic seasonal weather — low cloud in the valleys creates the most spectacular floating mountain effects. The Helong Park area of the mountain has the finest viewpoints.

Best Time to Visit

After rain for cloud-sea effects. Any season.

Getting There

Within Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. Cable car from Suoxiyu at the base or park bus from Wulingyuan.

Tickets & Entry

Local Tips

The best cloud-sea effects occur in early morning after rain. The area is large — allow 4 hours to explore the main viewpoints. Combine with Yuanjiajie (Avatar Mountains) on the same day using the park bus system.
