Intro

Flower Harbour Park (Huagang Guanyu) is one of the Ten Scenes of West Lake — a free public park on the southern shore of the lake covering 22 hectares of gardens, ponds, and lawns. Famous for its peonies in May, lotus flowers in summer, and the large koi carp pond that gives it its name (Guanyu means "watching fish"), it is one of the most pleasant free spaces around West Lake.

Best Time to Visit

Late April to May for peonies. July for lotus flowers.

Getting There

On the southern shore of West Lake, accessible on foot or bicycle from the Su Causeway.

Local Tips

Free and open all day. Most pleasant in the morning. The peony garden peaks in late April to May. The fish-viewing platform over the large koi pond is always crowded at weekends.
