Intro

The Hubei Provincial Museum in Wuhan is one of China's finest regional museums, housing the extraordinary collection of the Marquis Yi of Zeng — a 5th century BC nobleman buried with 65 bronze bells (bianzhong) that remain the most remarkable musical instruments to survive from the ancient world. The bells are playable and replicas are demonstrated daily. The jade suit, bronzes, and lacquerware from the same tomb are equally extraordinary.
