Intro

The Dragon's Back is consistently rated Hong Kong's best urban hike. The 8.5-kilometre trail traverses the ridge of Dragon's Back hill on Hong Kong Island's southern side, offering spectacular 360-degree views of the South China Sea, the Sai Kung hills, and the Shek O coastline, before descending to Big Wave Bay beach. The trail is accessible from central Hong Kong and requires no special equipment — a genuine mountain experience within an hour of the city.

Bus 9 from Shau Kei Wan MTR station to To Tei Wan bus stop (trailhead). Return from Big Wave Bay by taxi or bus 9 back to Shau Kei Wan.
